Essay response to “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid After reading “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid three or four times, I feel like the written of “Girl” displays as a theme of a poem. Therefore, I suppose the “Girl” is a poem. This poem looks more like a list of instructions assigns from a mother to a daughter than poetry. The mother instructs the daughter how to maintain a household, how to socialize, how to establish a good relationship
