nighttime, but I go out sometimes to look at the sky. Reverre really is strange, but he’s my brother. I still try my best to care for him. After about what I thought was 10 minutes, I calmed down.
I hadn’t heard any gunshots, so that was somewhat reassuring. There was no way everything was over, but maybe they took a break. I’m still sort of in denial about everything that happened here, but who wouldn’t be? I know, it’s the reality we’re in and it’s just the time, right? My mind is blocked off, that’s what it feels like. I stopped thinking for a moment and pulled my gun from my satchel. It was specially made for our battles, but every person chose a way it was made. Mine is black with silver flowers etched onto the handle, and it holds about 27 bullets. I’m not sure what you’d call it, but we’ve created a name for kicks. Each gun is called a Lavoise 13. Mostly everyone has at least one, but some are stolen. That doesn’t happen as often, though. People keep talking about the situation. “Oh, it’s terrible, awful, extraordinary, supernatural, horrid,” they say. They brought this on themselves, fighting each other over irrelevant things. What can I say? They’re human. Or at least, their appearance is. Their heart and mind, however, are more twisted than a mint and strawberry cocktail a drunkard
mixed. I turned my head to an old building near the café, and I saw something moving in the middle of it. Whatever it was, it was near the window. I thought it was a person, so I tried to give them comfort by letting them know I wouldn’t hurt them. I waved to the figure when suddenly, it turned darker than before. The figure jumped through the window and crashed on the hard ground. It was quite high, at least 9/10 of a story. They were human, I noticed, so I walked slowly up to them. They weren’t moving at all, they might have had a fatal injury. As soon as I walked close, I smiled. “Um…excuse me, are you okay?” I softly spoke to the…man. All was quiet for a moment, until I heard a loud and fierce growl coming from below me. It was the man, and he had his teeth bared at me and was positioned on all fours. He kept growling for a second, and suddenly lunged at my chest. I jumped backwards, grabbing my gun, but he still made contact.
