Review of the Week 4 Presentation in Effective Business Communication
Surprise Opening / Pre-Intro
Compared to the first presentation , I was able to select a topic in the second presentation which was much easier to work with , this also increased the scope of the presentation and I had to cut it down to a 10 minute presentation.Learning from the class , I picked up the technique to have a marking on the floor and in the second presentation , I used this technique for my Pre-introduction which was helpful as there was curiosity among audience on the discussion topic.The pre-introduction also had a hook for the audience to listen to the next set of slides, the transition from discussing about browser shares to games helped in having a puzzle opening. The pre-introduction in week 3 was effective as well in having a compare-contrast opening where we decided to open with a Perception issue and then transition into the actual problem.
Introduction In the introduction, I opened up with some of the popular games I had played and stated facts about the intricate part of games in our lives.I was looking for ways to add emotional texture to the facts by relating the number of hours spent in playing games to the population of the world.In Comparison, the goals and transition in the introduction was not clear in the presentation done in week 3.The Introduction was short spending about two minutes trying to build credibility on the discussion topic. Body The visual pieces that were given in the presentation was very helpful and I felt that it was explained well. It is important to have good visual parts to a presentation , because this helps to keep the audience interested and understand the issue being analyzed.I believe that the presentation in week 4 was interesting and had great information, but I ran into issues with the organization.
