I believe the law views the human person as not only a mere receiver of God’s gifts but also as their steward. The Bible teaches that sexual intercourse is a gift from God that should be stewarded and enjoyed by a husband and wife in such a way that is glorious to Him and good for marriages. God created sex for a husband and a wife to conceive children at their moment of deepest connection. As stewards, the people need to respond in gratitude for this gift that God has given. This is the very reason I am against the RH Law.
There are several hundreds of reasons this law should not be implemented. One, this is a law against human nature and intends to destroy the family and children. It destroys the dignity of humanity. Unbeknown to most, increase use of contraceptives actually leads to higher abortion rate. There are two reasons for this. First, contraceptives fail a certain percentage of the time. A 5% failure rate means that 5% of the couples using a certain method will be pregnant at the end of the year. Second, the use of contraceptives gives a false sense of security that leads to risky sexual behavior. The result is more unplanned pregnancies and hence more abortions.
Another, it is socially and economically unjust and destructive. The law justifies the imposition of new taxes and higher tax rates, government borrowing, price controls and distortions, and massive regulations that will affect not just the entire economy but also people’s rights. Furthermore, local government units have no competence, managerial skills and professional expertise to run and manage health clinics and centers.
