Dear Ms. Giang Nguyen,
My name is Nguyen Dieu Linh and I am from class A33 – Advanced Program, which you have taught Writing CO150 for almost four months. The final project you have us requires us to write you a letter to persuade you to award the grade I think I deserve for the course. To be honest, I had been seriously thinking about it and trying to fairly see my works from you perspective. Finally, I came to the conclusion that 8.5 would be enough for me.
The reasons I think I deserve this grade are based on what I understand about you during our course. Although we only met once every week, you expressed yourself to us quite obviously including your points of view and your beliefs about education. Therefore, I assess my own works through two factors: improvement and attitude.
First and foremost, improvement should be the most necessary measurement of a student’s performance. It shows what she gains from the lectures and turns the knowledge into her own, so that she can comfortably use it anywhere at any time. In other words, it measures how effective the course to her. More than once, you told us you always appreciated our efforts and one of the reasons why you wanted us to have a portfolio was that we ourselves could compare our own assignments in the future. I must say I have experienced a huge change. Even though it was subtle at first, it gradually appeared more noticeable later on.
When I received the guideline for project 1, I have to admit that I felt completely lost. I had never made a brochure before, plus that I was the most low-tech creature in the world. I did not know where and how to start. I even thought about getting help from my friend. But then, I realized if I did not make it myself, I would not be able to write the essay explaining it. Thus, I found all the

In the novel, A Separate Peace, the tree that Finny falls from symbolizes the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As mentioned earlier, in the Finny symbolism paragraph, his fall represented the fall of man, and so the tree he fell out of consequentially represented the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In the Bible, Eve ate the fruit off the tree and thus sin entered the world. In the novel, when Finny fell, peace and innocence left the Devon school, and thereafter the winter session, full of discipline and hard work, began. During the time when the fall took place, Gene could be considered to be symbolizing the serpent. Just as the serpent caused Eve to eat from the tree and fall into sin, Gene caused Finny to fall from the tree, ending the summer session and giving way to the winter session.…

This is Jack Merridew. It has been many years since we last saw each other, and so much has happened since then. I’m sure you’re a very different person now, as am I. I am not that same boy you knew, fifteen years can really change a person. Ten years ago, you sent me a letter blaming me for Simon and Piggy’s deaths, and everything else that happened on the island. I didn’t respond back then because I was in the Seminary and was trying to worship god and put all that happened on the island behind me. I’m writing you this letter now because I am about to become a priest and I feel that I need to clear things up as a last act before I start my new life. This way I can start out with a clean slate.…

In Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, figurative blindness possesses beauty, in that it allows the “blind” individual to construct their own unique world, all of which is created through the distinct perception of various experiences, not necessarily the actual sequence and nature of events. Blindness is essentially a, “social construction” (Batman, ThisAmericanLife), in that society has created this disability, whether it be physical or mental, demonstrating the notion that beliefs and opinions towards other individuals are the only hindrances for the blind in their efforts to achieve their potential. With the exclusion of belittling pre-conceived notions towards the blind community, the allure of blindness becomes apparent. This occurs through…

Moreover, that we have finished writing our scripts and that it's already time to present prevent us from putting less effort into the speech just because you promise us to give “A”. Lisa Wilken’s case is a great example of how commanders handle the sexual assault cases unfairly. Wilken, an Indianapolis veteran of the Air Force, was raped twice by one of her fellow airmen. When she reported the assault, the commander made her feel like she was the attacker and that it was all her fault. Her commander interrogated her about her sexual history and drinking. During the so- called investigation, the prosecutors did not even perform the proper investigation tasks such as taking photographs or gathering evidence of the scene. She had to stop her training while her attacker continued his. The prosecutors’ told her that her rape wasn’t “violent enough” to warrant any serious conviction. As a result, her attacker literally walked away free. He was allowed to…
