The reason I chose this topic was because civil rights has been such a hot topic recently with the LGBT community, in the 1960’s with the African American community, and in the 1800’s and 1900’s with women’s rights. It got me thinking how women were treating dating back all the way to 6,000 B.C. I built my paper around these basic premises. What do these respective religious books have to say about women. What do these respective religious books have to say about clothing. What do these respective religious books have to say about women and the jobs they can do. The research was quite simple. Since these came from religious books, they were all primary sources. They were also very easy to find. It fit the theme by seeing what women’s rights were in ancient times, throughout history, and today.
