Risk and Quality Management Assessment Summary
Reunion Plaza Nursing Center, a long term nursing facility with a 102 beds and is in the process of adding an additional wing that will have 30 beds for the elderly, disable, and short term rehabilitation with a staff that consist of Administrator, Business Office Staff, Social Worker, MDS Coordinator, Central Supply Clerk, Staffing Coordinator, ADON, Hall Managers, Hall Nurses, Treatment Nurses, Medication Aides, Nurse’s Aides, Dietician, Dietary Aides, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry Staff, who all works together to provide care to the residing residents and new admissions that is received. Its daily operations is based on revenue from private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and private pay so the corporate office and management can acquire the necessary products to continue offering the residents the best quality that is needed. With the adding of the additional rooms and beds it is time to think of how and what is needed to implement new residents along with the hiring of more staff to make the implementation into improving the quality of care a success.
The purpose of risk and quality management in long term care nursing facility is to assure that the organization has good sound structural and behavioral factors which is very important in helping the staff to perform good quality care for the residents. It also helps each individual staff member to take it on themselves to be responsible for monitoring the risks in order to make sure the risks can be minimized so they are manageable to assure that the best quality of care is offered. Not knowing how individuals think of governance in risk and quality management and how to interact with each risks and what is expected from an organization in assuring all responsibilities are giving out effectively based on the concepts of risk and quality management
