The stakeholders: Tom, Me, my agency, The social work profession
Stake for each: Tom is struggling and needs therapy. I feel guilt for turning him away. My agency would not benefit from Tom’s labor. The social work profession may suffer a bad reputation in consequence of my actions.
Options for action: I could treat Tom and get my computer fixed. I could turn Tom away.

Analyze
Consequences tool: By treating Tom in exchange for computer services, Tom would continue to get the therapy he needs. My computer would be fixed. My agency would not get paid. If they found out, I could lose my job and taint social works reputation.

The agency would also lose in this scenario, as well as the social work profession as a whole. There are more losers that winners.
Deontological tool: I would be treating Tom with the respect he deserves by continuing therapy with him, but would also be using him as a means of getting my computer fixed. I would also be wronging my agency and fellow workers by denying them

It would weigh heavy on my conscience being able to help someone in a way that could make their life better. In the situation I could have not believed Jan’s story and held him captive until the children were finished collecting all the gold and throw Jan overboard while leaving for America, but i wouldn't feel right doing that. I would have to think to myself how can someone come up with a story that sounds so true. It was a great risk in hiding Jan but in the end it was worth it because all of the treasure was safely collected and Jan finally had the opportunity to go to…

To gaze into the lyrics of both Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur is like living in the ghettos of New York City where violence never stops. Both of these artists grew up seeing and living a life filled with violence. Gunshots and drive-byes, death and murder were a daily occurrence. Although the lyrics of both artists are simply telling their life stories and how hard it was to grow up in their “hoods” they contain vulgar, hateful, and sexual verses that send the wrong message to their listeners. Whether these listeners are teens or adults, white or black, they are continually sending notions of hatred and fear through their lyrics and actions. Ultimately, their lyrics, actions, and creation of the East coast West coast rivalry began promoting violence to whoever hears, listens, or watches them.…

My scenario for this paper is: You observe a homeless person without any insurance being provided substandard care by the medical team. I have never experienced a situation of this kind. Nurse Rached

In my opinion Nurse Ratched, your way of treating the patients in the mental disability home is unjustified and cruel. Treating them like their not human beings just because you have total control over them is not right. Just because they have something mentally wrong with them doesn't mean you should take advantage of them or have other people do your dirty work. Some people that you think can be "fixed" are better off being how they were then make them worse like you do. Shock therapy is not the right way to "fix" people it just makes them worse or even forget about everything that happened in their life if taken to that extent In the treatment you use.The other treatment that you use that i think is cruel and unjustified is taking the front part of their brain out. If you do it right it works but it is proven that the patients that you have used this procedures on have became incapable to speak or move. You turned them into "vegetables" and their is no punishment for you, You just manipulate people to the point where they don't have the courage or power to stand up to you and if they do stand against you, You send them to one of your cruel treatments. If people outside the institution knew what you were doing to these people you would be arrested and charged with many crimes. What you do to these people with mental illnesses is inhumane. You should treat your patients like human beings and not lab rats, You have control and find people to help you with your sick treatments that also manipulate the patients. When a patient walks in yoursupposed to make them feel comfortable and not have huge african american human beings that are filled with hate sexually assault them. One day the society are going to find out when the patients have the courage to stand up to you and actually go through with…

One time at work I was faced with a problem. For all who don’t know, I used to work at a mental institution for three years. At this particular time I was working with the criminally insane males. We had a 17 year old who lived in Atlanta, Ga., but originally from Africa to come to us. He stabbed his 6 year old nephew without any reason in particular. Up until this particular incident, he hasn’t been a problem at all. He just paced the halls day and night. Because of my love for psych and me having good people skills the two of us seemed to click. One day he got into an argument with…
