Abstract Technology is one of the things in our world that plays big role in lots of fields and also in our lives. When it comes to use technology, like every other thing, it has positives and negatives. Law enforcement is one of the agencies across the country that uses and adopts technology and innovations. In this paper, I`m going to write about the use of dashboard cameras within police departments and other law enforcement agencies and how they can benefit from new technologies to fight with crime. Adopting new technology to make things easier is one thing but spending money on such technology could cost departments and due to the fact, some agencies did not adopt new things because of the resources. Throughout the paper, I`m going to write about why dashboard cameras are useful, why departments should spend money on new technology to make crime fighting easier and how such technology can prevent departments to get in trouble with citizens as we all seen hefty lawsuits across our country.
Technology has always been one thing that has positive sides and negative sides but helped humanity in either situation. Law enforcement is one of the fields that adopted new technology as a tool to fight with crime. Technology can be influenced in different ways to enhance the performance of the policing. It can increase the effectiveness of problem-solving and policing as well as the organizational success. The law enforcement world is way different now than it was in the past like about 15 to 20 years ago. It basically changed the way of policing and the way police officers do their jobs. There are lots of different innovations and technological tools that helped law enforcement agencies but in car video cameras or dashboard cameras are the ones that play big role when it comes to policing.
