The Greeks admired almost everything and they showed that admiration by representing figures almost in all forms of their art, like pottery and sculpture. They painted human shapes on pots in black and red background has given a more realistic portrayal of the figure. I have been in Rome and I have to say that the city is like living in a museum. In almost every corner there are things to remind us their great art and give an essence of ancient times. Pantheon, Vatican Museum, etc. However I will state my opposition regarding Colosseum, due to its inhuman utility. Since my home country is Greece I consider Parthenon as the most famous buildings of ancient times. But Greece is full of these kinds of buildings all with their own special meaning.
My question regarding the ancient civilizations is, if Rome and Greece hadn’t influenced the world with their art how the subsequently buildings or statues would like?
However, what I feel jealous about is that Greece could and should be like Rome, stating its rule position in ancient times, but unfortunately in Greece, no matter its glorious past, there are not so many ancient heirlooms in a good condition, mostly due to the presence of the Ottoman Empire and the continuous wars.
