After completing the chart, write a summary of at least 250 words that compares and contrasts these musicians. Write your summary in the following space:
Clara Wieck Shumann was a talented pianist who was groomed from childhood to become a piano prodigy. Amy Lee began taking classical piano lessons for nine years and was encouraged to express her talent by another musician she met at camp, joining to create the band Evanescence. Both of these ladies where brilliant at playing the piano and thoroughly enjoyed performing and entertaining their audiences. Clara is said to have also been a talented vocalist and Amy’s vocals are powerful and haunting. Both of these women have extreme talent in conveying the emotion of their composition. In Clara’s Romance, you can follow the emotion that she is feeling for her fiancé and fellow composer Robert Shuman as her melody flows through the composition. The piano is light and smooth and freely expresses her emotions. While Amy’s song Hello also takes you on a journey of emotions, as it is said that this song was written for her sister he has passed away. The music and lyrics are haunting and tell of a longing for the loss of a loved one. The melody is full of melancholy and perfectly conveys the sense of a broken heart. Both of these women have struggled to rise above adversity to pursue their passion. Clara faced her own self-doubt mainly due to the repression of female composers. Amy fought her own battles by facing off with her former band mate with a conflict of direction and with a former manager who sued her for wrongful termination. Through the adversity these women continued to play and create beautiful music eras apart.
