Ross Perot When People Lie

In the article I read was about when people lie and how at times it could be the right thing to do in certain times and how some people might view it as the wrong thing to do even if it is for a good reason. We see every day that people who are in power or famous lie about something so simple that it ends up destroying their career or even ruin their lives at home. An example of this from the reading is when Ross Perot lied about not going into the people who worked with him private life. Ross did not have to lie about going into people’s private life knowing that someone would eventually find out the truth. Even though people probably did not care about what he did because people in his position always tell a lie or scheme their way into
power. But also in the reading there was an example of when it might be ok to lie to someone. A great example was when a doctor has to tell a patient that they only have a certain amount of time to live, but instead of telling the patient that he has a fifty percent chance of a long-term recovery. Instead of telling him that in all reality he has less than six months to live. I feel like in this situation it is fine to lie only because if she was to tell the person the truth it would not only make the person very depressed but also their family will become hurt by the news. By, telling him that there is a chance for them to beat whatever disease that they have. Once he hears that he is most likely to think about living his life to the fullest. I know that people tell lies every day and probably everyone on this planet has lied, but I feel like the reason behind the lie makes it ok for someone to do it and also not ok for someone to do.
