I am applying for the position on Mate on your vessel. I started out on boats at about the age of 8 fishing off the coast of Oregon with a commercial fisherman who was a friend of the family. I have since then only spent about 8 years away from the sea living in Utah. I have loved the sea and all the things that she has to offer. I have spent most of my career working on vessels such as commercial fishing boats, offshore supply vessels, research vessels, Tugs, and some time on the Ferries. I feel that I have a good working knowledge of day-to-day operation on these types of vessels and have excellent knowledge of apparatus that may be on them. My 20+ years of experience with the Seward Volunteer Fire Department has helped me to adapt marine and structural fire tactics. I have been working as a Maritime Instructor in a number of different areas for 8 years.
