Instructions:
Write a 2 page review that evaluates how useful, correct, and well-presented the essay information is. Make sure you follow the directions below: You will use “Puritans and Sex”, an essay found in the Wright/Brick reader.

The paper must be typed using 12pt Times New Roman font
The paper must be double-spaced
The paper must have a minimum of 300 words but cannot exceed two pages
The paper must have proper citation for quotations
Your paper must not exceed 20% quotations
You do not need a cover sheet

Format:
The review must be formatted like an essay. This means that the review must have an introduction, body, and conclusion. Make sure you include the listed requirements found below.

Introductory Paragraph

The main idea of the article/essay being reviewed is clearly stated
The title and author of the article/essay is identified
Your thesis statement is clearly stated (your opinion why other people should read the selection, and whether the author was successful in supporting the main idea)
1. Example: The article/essay is an interesting read but it lacked primary source material
2. Example: The article was perfect for American history courses because it provided surprising information regarding Progressives

Review Body

A summary of the main points of the article/essay
1. This can be one or several paragraphs
2. Use quotes or paraphrases from the article/essay to prove your point
Your evaluation of the article/essay (point out specific reasons why people should or should not read the article/essay)
1. Explain the writers purpose for writing the article/essay. Give your opinion on whether the writer achieved his/her purpose
2. Criticize or praise the book
3. Use quotes or paraphrases to support your opinions

Conclusion Paragraph

A statement that reminds the reader of your thesis
Brief review of the main points of your essay
