Evidence: * Thompson’s study of Stevengraphs- support this with a recent example such as a VC being sold recently for £260,000? Talking about demand and supply making such items desirable.

Outline the argument that rubbish does in fact carry a value. Note the two sides of the argument here using the two claims below and use the concepts of recycling and the ‘rubbish business’ to explain these two positions.
Claims:
* Recyclable materials such as plastic and glass can turn from useless rubbish to new bottles or completely different objects once recycled – also environmentally friendly * The rubbish business is extremely lucrative – they buy rubbish and dispose of it therefore giving it a value. ‘where there’s muck, there’s brass’ * Statistics on wastage on these household items showing the damage to the planet and why giving value to rubbish is important so it can be recycled
