Russian Revolution Vs Animal Farm Essay
The idea of equality fueled by anger can lead people to act out and do what they believe is right. In the allegorical comparison to the Russian Revolution, Animal Farm by George Orwell, this statement holds truth. In the novel the animals represent the people, both tire and angry with the cruel treatment from their leaders they look for new hope. With the help of new ideas and the hunger to seek justice the citizens of both Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution fight for what they believe. Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution had many things in common through out their entirety. In both, citizens experienced extreme famine that lead to an outburst and eventually a revolt. For example both believed in the idea that everyone was equal. In Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto it is stated various times to remove the separation of class and join together as a whole. In much the same way Old Major’s speech repeatedly states that all animals are equal and should protect each other. In addition both Marx and Old Major created new ideas that became the basis for rebellion. Marx invented communism which became looked up to and was the basis for Russia's new government. Old Major created animalism which became the basis for the animals’ revolt against humans. Thirdly both created an outline for a perfect society. The Communist Manifesto outlined what the communists believed in and what they we fighting for. It also included way as that the communist community could become a perfect society. The Seven Commandments outlined Old Major’s ideas for equality and avoidance of the human nature. It also outlined the rules to help make Animal Farm a perfect society. Using their hunger for justice and their new ideology the citizens of both Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution fought for what is right.
