Rutherford's Gold Foil Lab Report

In this experiment, we modeled Rutherford's Gold Foil experiment to some degree. The unknown object under the cardboard was representing the nucleus of the atom, and the marble represented the alpha particles. However, with the marbles, we can roll it wherever we wanted to. We traced the marbles trajectory as we rolled to find the unknown object. There were small assumptions made on where the marble curved or changed paths at. We continued to roll the marble to find the object's position. We assumed it was a rectangle or a square like object, because if is was a circle or another shaped object, the marble would not have returned the same path it had taken.
