Penny Experiment Lab Report
Purpose: Can the penny hold more drops of water or more drops of the MYSTERY liquid?

Research: Cohesion- The state of sticking together. Pennies can hold more water because soap reduces the cohesion of water and the water molecules break apart and can't stay on the penny.
Hypothesis:
The penny will hold more a larger number of drops of water because water is more cohesive than the “mystery” liquids

Variables: Independent variable: Penny Dependent variable: Number of Drops of Water Control variables: Penny, pipette, paper towel size, same scientist

Materials:
Penny
Pipette
Water
Mystery liquid
Paper towel

Procedure:
Step 1: Rinse a penny in tap water and dry completely.
Step 2: Place the penny on a DRY paper towel.
