Sacrifice In The Odyssey

After 10 long and exhausting years of the trojan war everyone who didn’t die just wanted to return home, and for Odysseus, there’s nothing more he wanted than to go home to his Penelope and his son whom he had to leave as a newborn, but after he angered the gods by claiming he didn't need them the journey back home got complicated and took some wrong turns that took another 10 years to fix, but despite ending up in wrong places his mental strength and intelligence gave him the courage to keep going and never give up in order to see his loving family. No one can say Odysseus wasn’t a wise person, as the king of Ithaca he needed to be in order to be a wise and loving ruler, and it's that wisdom what kept him alive all throughout the trojan war,
While on his journey back to Ithaca he was forced to stay in Calypso’s island for 7 years, After given the opportunity to become immortal if stayed, he chose to go back to the sea to try to find his way back home. “This is a man I cherished and looked after, and I said I’d make him ageless and immortal for all days to come.” (Homer Line. 135). Odysseus had the chance to be more than human, he could've been a god, but he rather go back home to his family showing enormous mental strength. While on his journey he had to prove his strength many other times, one major problems he came upon was when he stumble upon the siren, the sirens would lure men in with their voice and then they would crash with rocks. When Odysseus encounter them he did the thing any good king would do, he made sure his men wouldn’t be able to listen to them, he made sure his man would put wax in their ears in order for them not to listen, Odysseus with his curiosity decided not to put wax in order to hear them but he ordered his men to tie him up in order for him to not able to move and told them not to let him go no matter
