Saddam Hussein Accomplishments
Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1938. His mother attempted suicide while pregnant with him. He was considered useless to her because he was the only child with no father, nor anymore siblings. When growing up, he was abused by his stepfather. He looked up to his uncle for advise and help. Throughout his childhood he was arrested for stealing and even killing his teacher at just 10 years old. He was truly a killer from birth. Somehow, in his 20s, Saddam enrolled in law school in Egypt, where he also was religiously "saved" from his crimes. Throughout his 20s, he also was in an activist group that targeted unwanted government officials of Iraq. Later on, he came back home and his grandmother arranged a marriage with his cousin (his close uncles daughter). As his marriage progressed, Hussein went further and further up the power line. He ordered troops to invade Kuwait. This alerted the united Nations and The USA. They immediately ordered a cease fire and surrender, but Iraq kept pushing on. 1,000s of dying troops later, the USA ordered a surrender from them under high consequences. Of course, they didn't listen. So the USA attacked with full strike. Iraq finally backed out. Saddam Hussein was then a wanted criminal, not only for the attacks, but for the poor treatment of his country. Civilians were dying of hunger and disease. He didn't care at all. That made his own citizens turn against him. Saddam Hussein was finally captured, after many failed attempts, in an underground bunker near one of his palaces. The USA gave him a health check and then assassinated him. I believe that it was a good thing that Saddam was taken out of power. It would have been better to take him out earlier, but we didn't have the advantage. Saddam was taken out of power and Iraqis feud was over, for now. Because of his annihilation, terrorist groups began to form. Those terror groups started the Iraqi

This attack killed thousands of Americans. As a result, the U.S. declared war on Afghanistan in pursuit of retaliating for their nation, preventing future attacks from Afghanistan, capturing al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden and removing the Taliban regime. The Taliban regime called upon its people to unite in a jihad, a Muslim holy war, against the evil west and America. While the fight against al-Qaeda and the search for Osama Bin Laden continued in Afghanistan, President Bush became worried about attacks from other terrorists. There wasn’t enough evidence that Saddam Hussein had any link to al-Qaeda, but intelligence reports indicated that Iraq could be the next source of danger and soon Bush’s administration turned its attention to…

Additionally, inspections for these weapons could take place at anytime. Hussein ignored this and was secretly building a strong army and secret police force that he would use an invasion force (Newsmaker 2001). When this army was strong enough, they invaded Kuwait in August 1900. During this invasion they levelled every town and drained the marshland leaving nothing behind for people or livestock to survive. He also used weaponry that he had denied the use of. This invasion by Hussein on Kuwait caused the Persian Gulf War that last for 6 weeks with Iraq destroyed by the allied forces (BBC 2000). Hussein chose to ignore these threats and has virtually destroyed any chance of his nation being favoured in the Western World while he was a leader. He has caused chaos and destruction amongst his own people and invaded other countries for an unjust cause then expected others to come and fix it for…

Saddam Hussein was one of the most brutal tyrants in the last hundred years. He is considered to be responsible for the death of nearly two million people. He first ordered for the killing of about 100,000 Kurds-Iraqi citizens based in the north of the country- because he believed them to be a threat to him. Then he followed that up with the ordered killing of tens of thousands of Shi’i Muslims and thousands more Kurds in 1991. These death counts, as high as they are, don’t even include the deaths from two of the bloodiest wars in Iraqi history. If you were to add up all these deaths, Saddam would be responsible for approximately more than 2 million deaths. This obviously shows that Saddam Hussein was the cause of the eventual war against the US.…

Finally, the attack on 9-11 did cause some decisions and those decisions have consequences because it could lead to a war depending on what they decided. It can also cause a lot of more deaths from troops of both Iraq and the U.S. Lastly my thoughts about what happened are that the attack was unnecessary. I believe that the U.S should not have invaded Iraq, but confront them. Not all the people in Iraq deserve to be punished or suffer from a war. I think that the U.S should just find the terrorist who planned the attack and do this by the help of other countries who should have allied with one…
