In politics everyone has a different opinion and it seems as if they never come to a compromise. This issue has been going on for many years now. As early as when this nation was first being built. Throughout history there have been times when the government has been at conflict. Many of these conflicts include the question as to who has more power and who should. If the states should or the national government. Two important cases in the past that have helped answer these questions are McCulloch vs. Maryland and Gibbons vs. Ogden. Both cases present conflicts that brought among state courts, which later end up being appealed in the Supreme Court and rule differently twice. Both cases ruling clear show a clear example as how the national government has a supremacy over the state government.…
The powers extended to the state government are issue licenses, conduct local elections, regulate intrastate commerce, and provide for public health and safety. Sometimes there is a conflict between the state and federal governments in defining who an exclusive…
First, Federalism helps guard against tyranny because it lets both governments control each other, it prevents state governments from attacking other states, and it separates powers.“In the compound republic of America, the power surrendered by the people is first divided between two distinct governments” (Federalist Paper 51, Doc A). This is saying that the state government and the federal government share power and have different abilities. The two governments can act as checks on each other and the different things that they can do balances the power out so there cannot be tyranny. Not allowing states from having their own military prevents tyranny because if…
The Constitution gives certain powers to the federal government, such as regulating interstate commerce and national defense, while reserving other powers to the states, such as education and licensing. This division of powers allows for a balance between national unity and state autonomy, ensuring that both levels of government can operate efficiently while maintaining their respective authorities. The Federal System helps prevent tyranny by spreading power across different levels of government and allowing for diverse policies to address the needs of various…
The federal government has powers that are more general and apply to the country as a whole, while the state government has powers specific to their area. According to Madison in Federalist Paper #51 written in 1788, federalism guards against tyranny because, “The different governments will control each other, at the same time that each will be controlled by itself.” (Document A) They are able to control their separate areas of government while still controlling the power of the other, ensuring that the other does not accumulate too much power and turn the country into a…
The framers of the constitution gave more power to the to the federal government rather than the states, Federalists and Anti-Federalists argued and fought over who should have more power. But it all had to come down to one or the other having more power.…
I think states should have the power to nullify federal law because each state should have a say in what happens in it. Without this say each state would be exactly the same and there would be no use for having states.…
Who should have more power state or federal? Federal should have more power because federal government can do more things than state can. State can only do things in that state. Federal can do more things than just stuff in that state. State government can do more things in that state for example;if your state allows you to have a gun and you're traveling to a gun range in a different state but that state doesn't allow you to have a gun and you get pulled over and get arrested.…
The Federal Government has power over the United states. The federalist like and view the Federal government with most of the power. The…
The heart of the constitution is the National Supremacy Clause, which states that the constitution and federal laws are the "supreme Law of the Land," meaning it is superior to the law of the states. I personally do not think that the federal laws should always supersede state laws, but there can be times in which the federal government wants the entire country on the same page and they can use their power to do so. The federal government should create laws that effects, and sometimes benefits the country as a whole. The states, on the other hand, should create laws that are unique to the people living in them that do not interfere with the laws set by the federal government.…
Some states would not abide by all of the federal government laws that where set or make their own laws that interfered with ones that were made. The Public Administration Quarterly said “The constitutions provided for varying degrees of decentralization. Nome, however, were as decentralized as the national government under the Articles. In all states, there was an executive in some form and in New York, Massachusetts, and Hew Hampshire he was elected by the people at large. Other states, however, provided for an executive chosen by a legislature or legislatively appointed body. In most states, the executive was essentially part of the legislature.” The US Constitution divides power between the Federal government and state governments. Giving certain power to the federal government to keep the country in stability to grow in the future like declare war on another country or treaties so the entire country stays on one side of the decision. When the federal government makes a law, the states have to follow it and change any laws that has conflict with it to fit within the parameters of the law. The States have reserved powers with are specifically for the states to regulate. This was the tenth amendment to the constitution and has similar tis to the Articles of…
what is the importance of uniformity ,dress right dress, and discipline in the army? the importance of uniformity is to make everyone become and look equal. there are no differences between us, no separation because we are all a team. what is the point of uniformity, when a whole platoon is uniformed it shows discipline and being in uniform is one of the things that is part of the foundation of the army. Without uniformity there cannot be discipline, and then it turns into a chain reaction and destroying the foundation of the army. being in uniformity shows soldiers how they can do things together and how working together, we as people can do anything we want to accomplish. it also teaches soldiers that uniformity also shows responsibility that when things are disorganized nothing ever gets done, but when there are no differences holding back from completing the mission anything can be done 110%. Everything needs to also have discipline without having the discipline to fix something that is out of place when you know that it needs to be fix then everything would be jacked up. For example, if it were not for my leadership to keep us awake all night, night before the inspection cleaning everything making sure that everyone was truly dress right dress, checking all the wall lockers and bed display we may vary would have not passed the inspection on our own. the reason I say that for is because we all come from different up brings, some were taught discipline and others were brought up spoiled and had everything done for them and or never had anyone there to teach them how to keep thing neat or responsibility to make sure rules are completed 110%. when every is dress right dress it eliminates the difference that people have, it eliminates jealousy, deformity and also our disabilities and everything separates us from being the same. in the army, during our training we have to learn to put all of our differences aside and push through together through…
I think The States have the most power. I think this because The States seem to have a say in everything. They even get to choose the people to make laws. The first reason is the states get to chose the Senators. “All U.S. senators have been chosen by direct popular election.”…
One of the major aspects of politics is decision making. Politicians play a direct role in our lives by deciding what is best for the majority of the people. The common goal between all politicians is to make as many people happy while still thinking about what is best in the long run. It is impossible to please every single person in this country because we are all very different people. The United States of American is made up of different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. They all have their different views and opinions about how this country should be run and by whom. A federalist government would have the ability to make the best decisions possible that benefit society as a whole. No…
