Asked what prompted him to start a business using a strategy that had not been proven before, Buffa believed that men clamored for that unique barbershop experience, an experience that brought together barbering and hairstyling. While Buffa runs on a centralized system, he has had to work extra hard besides his management team to ensure that the services are identical across all the barbershops. Through the constant employee training, Buffa has strived to ensure that top-quality services and customer service prowess are maintained across the different branches. However, owing to the fact that the branches are located in different cities it has been substantially challenging to offer similar services and expect the same results. Moreover, because of the business’ relative small size, Fellow Barbershops expansion strategies have been pulled back by the lack of enough funds for such endeavors. Buffa is the only investor in his business, and this has greatly reduced his ability to amass resources which would otherwise be used for expansion purposes.
