He states such assumption since the majority classifies it as a sin or even worse than it really is. Therefore the only flaw in his assumption is that not everyone in the culture believes that. But I still agree that since the majority wins, those individuals don’t really have a saying in their culture. It’s pointless that two out of 30 believe something because they’re not going to listen to them. Furthermore, one group of individuals that contribute to this idea is the wickedly infamous Mason Family and their leader Charles Manson. In the late 1960s or also known as the decade of death, the ex convict was manipulative and the mastermind behind a series of murders although he never committed one himself. There’s no guilt or remorse within his “family” since they felt as if they accomplishing an important mission for their “god” (Manson). He was able to coax them to be sex and drug crazed women and made them feel welcomed, since they sought for comfort and feel loved within a family. Therefore this group believed that what they were doing was fine and even glorified killing after their occurrences. Despite the ugliness of it, they believed it was right because they were pleasing Manson. Back to Harris theory, they’re wrong to think that killing, having orgies, and abusing drugs was the way to live.
