According to the Pew Research Center, “the U.S. public in general is becoming less religious, the nation’s youngest adults are by many measures much less religious than everyone else.” Hence, for young adults, religion is somehow not important. Having stated this, the purpose of this assignment is to explore how young adults experience religion in current times and what are religious institutions doing to attract more young adults. Young adults experience sudden changes in the transition from adolescence to adulthood when it comes to engagement in religious practices. Charles group is to welcome those young Catholics looking for a young and vibrant community where they can gather to pray, worship and grow in faith and still be young. These programs were established to encourage more young people, especially young adults married or unmarried, with children or without children to have an encounter with their faith. Each group has a leader and anyone who would like to join can simply visit their Facebook group page to join or receive information about their activities. Although, the church priests have a lot of influence, they too, participate as leaders. Similarly to St. Charles, there are other groups around, for example, the young adults group at Our Lady of Lourdes in Arlington. They share and follow a very similar pattern although is less popular than the St. Charles group. They participate in Theology on Tap, hold the Praise and Worship activity every first and third Tuesday of the month. What all these groups have in common is the interest in faith growth. The Arlington Diocese website states that they were established “to support Catholics in their 20s and 30s in their desire to enter more deeply into a relationship with Christ through fellowship and formation in the Catholic
