Furthermore, Dorian has been possessed by an evil Valg prince. The story is dragged out, oftentimes not even addressing the problems at hand. The resolutions to these problems were fleeting as they were only mentioned within the last 100 pages or so, but they were satisfying once they were actually happening. The Throne of Glass series had become one of my favorite series over the past year. This book was an extreme disappointment that did not live up to the previous masterpieces written by Sarah J. Maas. This book ruined characters, relationships, and different plots. With the completion of the third book, I found that I adored Rowan and Celaena’s relationship. However, by the end of this book I found myself hating it. Furthermore, Maas completely destroyed all of the work she had put into the character known as Chaol Westfall. She turned him into a dislikable character who made stupid decisions; all of his character development was flushed down the drain. I truly wish that Maas had not let her obsession with Rowan get in the way of writing other characters. Many of the characters in this book did not live up to their potential. I would recommend this series to others as it is fascinating as a whole. However, I would not recommend this book by itself as it is an extreme disappointment to all Throne of Glass fans. I will continue to read this series as I am still a fan, but Sarah J. Maas better not screw up the next book too.
