The Bengal cat’s ancestor is the Asian Leopard Cat. The African Serval is the ancestor of the Savannah Cat. Savannahs are banned in New York City, Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Georgia due to the concern of the cats escaping and their wild side emerging causing changes in the ecosystem. I personally know both a Bengal and Savannah; my dad owns a snow Bengal named Sassa and my cousin owns a Savannah named Zoe. They are both amazing and entertaining cats. Bengals are full of energy and love to play. They also enjoy snuggling up with their owners and are very affectionate. They experience periods of extreme energy and activity followed by sudden long periods of being calm, loving and sweet. These cats, however, are for experienced cat owners due to their crazy side. Whereas the Savannah is canine-like. They are curious, outgoing, active, loyal, and play well with other pets. These cats can jump seven feet in the air, the highest of any domestic cat. They do well with families and young children as long as they respect their nondomestic genes. Both of these breeds make some interesting noises. The Bengal cat has a bark like meow. Savannahs will sometimes let out a snake hiss. Which comes from their Serval lineage, this noise is made to imitates a snake in times of danger. These breeds are both super healthy. Bengals are immune to feline leukemia and are being studied at the National Institute of Cancer. Savannahs and Bengals are both rather pricey breeds and can cost anywhere from a couple hundred to a few thousand dollars. Also, they are both very intelligent. Both enjoy water and on occasion will like to take showers. Another trait from their ancestors is that they both appreciate being able to look down upon their environment or home.
