Hewlett-Packard was founded in 1939 by two men, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard who met in the 1930s while studying at Stanford University. Hewlett-Packard is and has always been a highly innovative company that thrives on opportunity and risk. The Florida panther is a beautiful subtropical subspecies of the North American cougar. Unfortunately the Florida panther is one of the most endangered animals in the world. The Florida panther was one of the first species to be added to the U.S. Endangered Species List in 1973. Most Florida panthers remain alive in captivity; there are less than one hundred panthers in the wild. The few that are still in the wild are found in a few places in southern Florida. Places like the Everglades National Park and the Big Cypress National Preserve.…
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and is the most massive planet in our solar system. It has an equatorial diameter of 143,000 kilometers. It is 11.2 times the size of earth and has a mass 318 times the size of Earths. You could also fit almost 1400 Venus's inside Jupiter. Jupiter has an enormous magnetic field, has 63 moons, and it also has rings which form a miniature solar system of its own. Jupiter is made primarily of the gasses hydrogen and helium which makes Jupiter's atmosphere similar to the suns, "it is a big ball of gas". Jupiter rotates west to east and its rotation is so fast that it bulges out at its equator and it takes 11.85 years to orbit once around the sun. One day on Jupiter compared to that of Earths lasts just 9.9 hours. where as a day on Venus lasts 243 days. Jupiter is usually the second brightest planet we can see and it can often be seen all night.…
The Serval is one of the wild cats that are often tamed and kept as exotic pets in the western world. They have also been interbred with the domestic cat to produce the Savannah…
The name of the bobcat is quite ironic, because it is literally from the fact that their tails are in fact bobbed, or short. It also has a binomial name, which is Lynx rufus. Interestingly enough, its’ scientific name comes of off Felis, which has to do with the cat family. There had been a debate on whether to classify this species as Lynx rufus or Felis rufus as part of a wider issue regarding whether the four species of Lynx should be given their own genus, or be placed as a subgenus of Felis. Ultimately the Lynx genus is now accepted. The bobcat belongs to the Animalia kingdon, the Chordata phylum and is in the Mammalia class. It is also a part of the Carnivora order and in the Felidae family. Not to mention the Lynx genus and being the L. rufus species.…
The narrator is increasing the terror and madness by making the screams scarier. The child cries starts as a soft whimpering sound. It happens so much, escalating “howl” loud and fully mature noise; puts in an “inhuman” howl like it was a beast down in the hole with half terror and half triumph. The madness and terror increases so much that the author questions if the howls are from hell by demons.…
Panthera onca is the largest feline in the New World (Seymour 1989). The felid is closely related to the leopard (Panthera pardus) in most senses but differs in many areas such as size. P. onca has a larger average body size, approximately 1.12 m to 1.85 m from head to tail (Seymour 1989). Specifically, females average from 1.57 m to 2.19 m in length while males average 1.72 m to 2.41 m in length (Seymour 1989). Shoulder height is overall 0.68 m to 0.75 m on average (Seymour 1989). This makes females…
I haven't heard of the Geoffroy cat but then on that programme I saw about cats a few weeks ago, there were a lot of cats that I hadn't heard of, like the sand cat and the fishing cat, they catch fish by feeling with the whiskers on their feet rather than by seeing them. I had a cat when I was about 10 years old but only for a…
The Bible gives one of the earliest and most famous accounts of the origins of sin and evil. In the Book of Genesis, Adam and Eve, who at first live peacefully and without sin in the Garden of Eden, break God's only law by eating an apple from the forbidden tree. An angry God places a curse on Adam, Eve, and all future peoples so that they will now be born with original sin, thus allowing evil to enter the world. Since this ancient story, many have attempted to understand further the development of evil inside the soul of man. A literary pattern has developed which reveals the growth of evil and perverseness inside its characters in the Gothic romance. Gothic romances attempt to create effects of the frightful and perverse through displaying…
With approximately sixty to one hundred million feral cats loose in the United States measures have started to be taken to lessen the number of cats we have in the wild. However, with the threat of offending animal rights activists there are only so many steps that can be considered humane enough to enforce. A feral cat can be defined as a cat that has been abandoned or a cat that was originally born in the wild. With the large amount of wild cats we have in the United States it has become a growing concern nationwide to those individuals who live near the populations of feral cats, and to researchers who are studying or protecting native birds and small mammals that the cats prey on. Researches have come to the conclusion that the trap, neuter and release, or TNR, of feral cats is the best way to reduce the amount of cats we have in the United States, while also being…

Huey and Bobby met in the early sixties whilst at Meritt Junior College in West Oakland (Wood 1, Rajguru 2, The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense). Both of these men were active in Black politics for several years before they came together to form the Panthers. (same site as previous sentence). The “Black Panther Party for Self Defense” was formed to protect Black individuals and neighborhoods from police brutality (ushistory.org). This party was based off of the Black Power Movement. The Black Power Movement was also formed in 1966 and was rooted from the ideas of Malcom X who was a very insperational person to the Black Panther Party. This movement stressed the self-sufficiency, self-assertion, and Black pride (13.3 US Packet). During the time of the 1970’s the black power movement had a great social impact on minorities because the Panthers showed that they were supporters amongst Blacks in the major cities by 90% (Wood 1, Rajguru 2, The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense). During the March Against Fear in Mississippi in 1966…
The savanna is a tropical biome monopolized by grasses, shrubs, and small trees. It's grassland cover western India, northern Australia, South America, and other parts in Africa. In this biome it is very warm, there is little precipitation so there is not a lot of tall trees more like shrubs and bushes. A savanna is categorized between a tropical rainforest and a desert biome it is right in the middle of them. Savannas are created when humans burn grasslands and cut down trees kind of like slash and burn process to plant crops. An interesting fact about the Savanna biome is that its soil is very diverse every type of soil used for agriculture has been found there. Due to the prolonged dry and wet climate the availability of food…
