The fact that animals and being ripped from their homes. For what? A box of Macaroni and Cheese? A bottle of shampoo. It saddens me to no extend. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Macaroni and Cheese, but at what cost? Animals homes are being taken from them, families of animals are being torn apart apart for something so small. Lives are being ruined, for me to wash my hair with the shampoo I like. This kind of company is a demand and supply, so if at least 100 people take a few seconds out of their day to just turn around an item they see in the store and see if Palm Oil is it it. I bought a refillable water bottle so I don’t have to use the plastic ones that are from Stracks. One way my family and I have helped as a unit is buying a water jug. Each jug (we have 3) hold up to 5 gallons, and only costs $1.75 to refill each jug. Not only is it cheap, we’re not throwing away hundreds and hundreds of plastic bottles every month. Another way we as a family do this, is we grown our own food. Such as tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, green peppers, jalapeño peppers, and watermelons. Ever since we started growing our own food we don’t have to worry about buying produced vegetables, we know where they came from and what they were grown in. We don’t thrown old food away as much because we all like the taste of the home grown food. One other way I personally try to help is try to carpool with my friends. If we’re going to the same place we try to all get a ride together. I know it’s a small difference, but it will eventually help change global warming.
At the end of the day, try and think, ‘what did I do to help the planet?’ If you’re not happy with the answer, there’s tomorrow. But at some point there won’t always be a tomorrow. That’s why you have to try to help today. Even if it just growing your own food, buying a refillable water bottle, or something as simple as turning over you shampoo and seeing if Palm Oil was used in the processing
