The acting style that I am referring to is depicted in the scene where Tony Montana is being questioned by immigration officials. He is being deceitful to keep the immigration officials from finding out about his background. " Tony is quickly revealed to be lying in his answers firmly establishing his deceitful characteristics" ( Ryan Errington para. 2) . He had a criminal background that he knows could keep him from being allowed to come in to America. So this shows the criminality theme from the beginning in acting style. Before Tony has even applied for the green card he has just murdered a fellow inmate in a jail in Cuba. Al Pacino as Tony acting style is spot on. Even when you are watching it feels like a dark movie and with so many criminal elements you always feel like another murder is around the corner and it usually is. Another element that I think we have been useful in keeping with the criminality theme in this film is set design. I feel as if they could have added a few more scenes with jails or funerals to show all the deaths and those who committed the crimes. It would've just made sense to add these set designs to show how people were ended up in these situations that they were getting themselves into. Scarface major theme is criminality and I believed that it was showcased very well in this film. The set design, lightning, the way that they dressed, the places they hung out, their clothes, and their attitude they had to take down anyone that tried to stand in their way all made for a great gangster
