This book is the struggle of good and evil for the basis of any great work of literature. The book Scarlet Letter is a really good unique book when it’s a battle between light and darkness. There’s not a group of bad people or a group of good people. It’s a mixture of both bad and good people. Each individual character as there own sin, whether there sins is hidden or exposed, blights their nature. There’s only one despite about this book and it goes throughout the whole book. It start’s with Pearl and Chillingworth contend of a brutally over the mortal of the minister of religion President Arthur dimmesdale. Not only did he violate his reverence for Hester Prynne’s soul (Hawthorne 234), but he also wronged her husband , Roger Chillingworth.
In rundown to this, Dimmesdale hid his sin while Hester suffered populace mortification and debasement . His cowardliness Acts invited the war over his soul, which attacked him mercilessly throughout the story. Roger Chillingworth is the representation of evil nation of war against Dimmesdale. Ironically one of the pastor ’s closest friends, Roger’s purpose in life sentence is to seek out, like a hunt for truth, the man who wronged him (Hawthorne 66). Although the account was unique in its conflict , good eventually North Korean won and evil doomed again. In the end, the battle between Pearl and Roger for the minister’s soul was finally completed, and his burdensome sin exposed to all. The Scarlet Letter is an excellent employment of literature.
