According to NICE (2004) activity scheduling has proved to be an effective cognitive behavioural technique in treating depressive symptoms. Judy was also encouraged to utilise the ward based gym for gentle exercise to relieve physical symptoms, rebuild social confidence and alleviate her level of anxiety and depression.
