Abstract
Mental Health Nursing is a key topic in the field of medicine that provides means on how to attend to mentally ill patients. In this essay, I have come up with the procedures on how to attend to Angelina (patient), which entails therapeutic engagement skills and therapeutic treatment modalities. Under engagement skills, I have discussed how the nurse will interact with the patient so that Angelina can share her problems with the nurse. This will help the therapist come up with a solution towards her illness. In treatment modalities, I have discussed in details the types of therapy that Angelina can be administered for and how they should be carried out for success. All these processes work in hand to achieve the better option and have to be done continuously to achieve better results.

Therapeutic Engagement Skills
Therapeutic engagement skills are one of the best widely known ways of how to solve mental problems in patients. The fact that Angelina is in the hospital, the nurse should be able to establish an understanding with her that
he/she is entering into a relationship with Angelina that essentially is safe, confidential and consistent with appropriate and definite boundaries. It's a fact that majorly disorders that result from genetic or active biochemical components have never been cured by therapeutic engagement skills. Although, the accompanying emotional problems similar to the ones Angelina is going through are avoidable through this intimate relationship of the nurse and Angelina.
In handling this case, there are steps to be followed outlined regarding phases that the nurse must undergo with the patient so that there can be a mutual relationship between them.
The first step is the Orientation Phase- the nurse and the patient get to meet, they are complete strangers to each other and most often, and this phase may always be prolonged depending on how much damage the victim has undergone. But for Angelina's case, we tend to assume she's still at the development stage, so no much damage has incurred hence we expect they get along with the nurse after a short while. The main aim of this phase is for the nurse and Angelina to establish trust on each other since what they are going to share is very confidential and should just remain between the two. So it will depend on how free Angelina will be to the nurse if she will be able to share all her issues and thoughts that have affected her of
late.
Angelina will need to know more about the nurse holistically and the purpose of the meeting since she is at the hospital without her consent. Angelina must also seek to know who the nurse will share the information she will give her. In return, the nurse must mention to her all the qualified medics to inform of her scenario which will also help solve Angelina's problem. This right to confidentiality is never meant to be broken by the nurse at no particular time. Termination is always the last stage of the orientation Phase, and the date should be communicated earlier to the patient too, it has a period which can be negotiated depending on the quality of trust developed by the nurse and Angelina. Reaching the termination stage will lead to the next stage of therapeutic engagement skills which is The Working Phase.
