SCR associates Chapter 1
Session 1

1. Is the site user-friendly? Why or why not? Provide at least four improvements you would suggest to Jesse.
Hello Jesse,
There are few things we can do to make the site more user-friendly.
The “About SCR” page: Though the “about SCR” and “our mission” sections set up a great start to the webpage, the content from “our, history purpose and values” and “goals” links could be rearranged or condensed to make it more easy for users.

Design of the website: The “Disclaimer” text appears with the content of the website can be distracting to the user.

Spelling and grammar: there are spelling errors in the text.

Contact page: The text “Please Note: Your email….” should only include in the contact page.

2. What other libraries might be created? Suggest at least two to Jesse.
Contact information (office email, phone, title etc.) for each employee
Organizational chart

3. Jesse says that SCR has plenty of competition in the IT consulting field. Get on the Internet and find four other IT consulting firms. She wants a brief description of each firm and the services it offers. Also tell her which firm impressed you most, and why.

In this unit we are talking about Cholesterol and how a group of organic compounds make up 18-25% of one’s body mass called lipids. So why are lipids important? Lipids are important because they are used in the body to transport vitamins, they are essential in breaking down Cholesterol and they are used for body insulation. Lipids are best obtained from vegetable oils and legumes. But, the question is can the body produce essential fatty acids (ETA’S)? No, our body is not able to produce these fatty acids on its own. Energy and me. I use several different forms of energy. The one I most often used is electricity which is generated from a power plant in my area. It is my understanding that Power plants make electricity out of other forms of energy. “Majority of electricity in the United States comes from converting the heat energy released from burning fossil fuels, such as coal, natural gas and oil. The rest is generated from nuclear reactors and from renewable sources, such as sunlight, wind, falling water and geothermal heat.” (Where does electricity come from? June 2013) I would guess that when I travel and where I work that the electricity is originated the same way.…

The United States is known as the wealthiest nation in the world. When poverty is mentioned most people think of this occurring in developing countries. Everyone has come across someone in the United States suffering from hunger, homelessness and other forms of poverty, but few people may have realized it. [pic]Poverty in the United States is quite different from the images often[pic] seen on television [pic]in[pic] other [pic]developing[pic] countries (Cole, 2005). Instead of homelessness and starvation, [pic]poverty [pic]is a malnourished child whose parents do not have the earning to provide healthy food for their families. [pic]Another face of[pic] poverty [pic]is a hard working single parent that is working full time and still struggles to provide the family with food, [pic] [pic][pic]shelter, clothing or even a car. Although the United States is the wealthiest nation, poverty is still an issue (Freeman, 2005).[pic][pic]In the United States childhood poverty is said to be a very alarming problem. It affects [pic]every person in this country, regardless of economic status, age, race, or gender. In 2001, 11.7 million children, or 16.3% of children in the United States were poor[pic] (Freeman, 2005). [pic]Children represent a disproportionate percentage of the poor population. They make up 35.7 percent of the poor, but only account for 25.6 percent of the general population (U.S. Census Bureau,[pic] 2006). America must make it a priority to see that the adequate attention is being given to the problem of all the children that are living in poverty. These children are our future and need us to provide the resources, encouragement and resources they need to get out of poverty.[pic] [pic] Society categorizes an individual into the poverty group when there is not enough income to meet the basic need of food, clothing and shelter. Food, clothing and shelter are not…

The social issue that I am interested in is racism. Racism is a social problem that has existed throughout human history. It has influenced wars, slavery, as well as the formation of nations. Racism may be defined as the hatred of one person by another because of skin color, language customs, place of birth or any other factor that reveals the basic nature of the person. Racism exists in different ways. It can be individual, institutional, cultural, religion racism and so forth. Racism has also been widespread throughout the United States. Today, overt racism in this country has decreased because more people believe in evaluating other by the content of their character (Macionis, 2010). I feel as if no matter what type of racism is practiced, it shouldn’t be tolerated and should be stopped. In order to do so we must encourage dialogue on racism and human rights.…

The way we communicate with each other drives how our lives are going to be. With every day that goes by we communicate with our families, friends, and co-workers. Our relationships with those that we communicate with can determine how we choose to communicate with them. Meeting a stranger on the street and saying hi, or asking for directions draws upon a more simple skill set of communication than speaking to a familiar co-worker or spouse. Having a close relationship to someone can change how we communicate with them and lead to poor communication.…

After checking out www.optimo-it.com, I noticed a couple of things right away. First, there is a strong emphasis on the different technology solutions that the company offers its clients. These include, but are not limited to IT strategy, systems engineering and integration, mobile application development, and database design, development and administration. Each one of these solutions is designed to align with their respective clientele’s business goals and objectives in an effort to address the most complex technological challenges that the company may face. The next thing I noticed about the company was how diverse their client base was. They ranged from government agencies such as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, to commercial clients like the Northeast Pennsylvania Center for Independent Living, to legal firms like Worldwide Insurance & Reinsurance Services. Working with such a wide variety of companies means that they have ties with multiple fields of expertise, which may further enhance their appeal to potential employers in the future.…
