Methodology is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study, or the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of knowledge. It, typically, encompasses concepts such as paradigm, theoretical model, phases and quantitative or qualitative techniques.
A Methodology does not set out to provide solutions but offers the theoretical underpinning for understanding which method, set of methods or so called “best practices” can be applied to a specific case.
It is necessary to develop appropriate system and methodologies for such studies. Although they are aware of the value of the user studies, some libraries uses the manual system so they encounter problems such as unreturned and lost books, so it is difficult for them to trace who lost the books or who did not returned it on the time. In this proposed Library System of Tanay National High School, the librarian can easily view the records and information about the library.
We analyze the steps/methods that should be taken in carrying out this project:
- Plan the study
- Interview the Company
- Gathering Information
- Collection and analysis of the information
The purpose is to establish a baseline for user satisfaction. Selection of students will be identifying by year and section, age, frequency of use, gender, and other information.
The Logging-in can be another method to use. Its purpose is to get into the system and fill up the information needed.
Moreover, the contextual inquiry is an approach to study technique combining observation and interview methods to gain an interpretation of the system.
