Secondary Target Audience Analysis
Secondary Target Audience Within the secondary target audience, there are two main groups. The first includes the middle-aged crowd between the ages of 25-30, who just recently completed their undergraduate studies and are involved in their first career post-college. This audience still enjoys the nightlife that most local bars in Normal, such as the Pub II, has to offer on the weekends. The second group includes the blue collar workers between the ages of 30-35 who are already heavily involved in their lifetime career. This older aged group, predominantly males, would view the Pub II as a getaway from work during their lunch hours, a break from their families, or even just a hangout spot to catch sporting events with friends on a Sunday afternoon. This secondary target audience has an income of less than $50,000 a year and enjoys a few casual drinks within a sports bar environment. Since the Pub II offers a typical laid-back atmosphere and is located within the area where most of its customers live, it acts as a great escape from their everyday work consumed lives. The secondary audience of males and females within the Normal community will provide consistent business for the bar throughout holiday and summer breaks when the primary market of college students from Illinois State, Illinois Wesleyan, and Heartland, …show more content…

Since 2008, the Fork and Dagger Pub has had an overall decrease in sales and revenue, continuing up to present 2012. To properly come up with a solution to increase the Pub’s sales, the reasons for decline must be identified and acknowledged. The first major reason for decline would be the economic recession to hit Canada in 2007. This would explain why Jason noticed that patron’s are purchasing less food or are having overall smaller orders. External factors like recession in the community will affect all sorts of businesses as well as the overall economic status. The next reason for deterioration would be the growing pub & bar venues appearing in Straun, Ontario. With direct competition resembling Big Joe’s Sports Bar & The Shark Tank, once regular customers are now wandering to try new venues. In addition, these new venues are also offering services like free karaoke, live bands & pool tables for socializing. While the Fork and Dagger Pub do not offer any additional functions like that, out of fear or losing space for tables or destroying the ‘atmosphere’ of the current pub.…

News of a tragedy quickly spreads through towns and cities where such events take place. Often they can spread to a larger audience to encompass a whole state or country surrounding the incident. However, every once in a while there is the one headline that grabs the attention of the entire world. This is no more evident than the San Jose mine collapse in the Atacama region of Chile back on August 5, 2010. Although many accidents and deaths happen in the mining industry each year worldwide, the United States recorded about 12,000 injuries and deaths for 2006-2007 according the United States Department of Labor (n.d.), none in recent memory had gathered so much attention as did the collapse mine in the northern parts of Chile that trapped 33 miners riveted a world.…

My hypothesis is that the venue serves a broad range of people who are interested in non-local newspapers and magazines, in local newspapers and magazines, or in picking up a beverage or other sundries. My hypothesis is based on the following observations: there are many newspapers and magazines in several different languages on display outside the venue; the name of the venue, Out of Town News, indicates that it specializes in non-local newspapers; and patrons leaving the venue usually carry a newspaper or magazine, or occasionally a small sundry item like a beverage or pack of gum.…

When speaking to any group of people its important to know your audience and how to effectively communicate the information you want them to understand. The video with Steve Jobs introducing the “First Ever iPod” was incredible. When viewing the video presentation the audience demographics as in age and socio-cultural background, I felt geared towards the age demographic and socio-cultural background that is known to be the Y generation overall; but markets the iPod to all ages and cultural backgrounds. The Y generation is any person that is born after the year 1983. [1] Generation Y was the first to grow up with computers in their homes and they used technology at higher rates than people from other generations. In Steve Jobs presentation he went back to the start of the CD player, then proceeded to explain the other music options that were available. Generation Y has been through all of the music options he discussed, since they were the generation to want all of that new technology at the time it became available. Although generation Y may understand the extensive information Steve has presented in his presentation, Steve discuss how you can [2] “take the iPod biking, mountain climbing, etc…”this exemplifies the fact that the iPod is suitable for all ages and cultural backgrounds no matter what kind of music you enjoy. Being a generation Y baby, I have seen the evolvement of music since the start of the CD player when it came out, to the now latest iPod music technology. I have come to this conclusion that the age and socio-cultural background is not specific to the iPod brand, Steve wants the iPod to cater to all people who would want their product.…
