October 28, 2014 Security Versus Privacy
In this era of terrorism, It is difficult to achieve both privacy and security.
Individual privacy in this innovative age is no longer private .I think keeping our nation safe is a paramount. If the safety of citizens needs the NSA programs, what is a big deal in it?People think that they are being monitored each waking moment. When will this agitation stop, reason and sense kick in?
Security and Privacy go hand in hand and both are needed. But, security of citizens is more important. During the regulation of President George W. Bush, Americans faced terrorist attacks and threats. Americans experienced the fear of attacks and losing people.
In my view the safety and security are more imperative than the individual privacy. Privacy is needed, but it's not as paramount as people exaggerating it to be. Is privacy of individual more worth than the lives of people? One of the responsibilities of government is to safeguard the nation. For keeping this promise, Americans need to sacrifice certain privacy. Improving a step in national security is improving a step in the human life. By ensuring national security, we can avoid another attack from the terrorists, which takes the lives of many people. One can lose and gain privacy, but unfortunately can't gain life. No chance to undo life.
A few telephone surveys revealed that more than half of the Americans agree security is important. Most of the citizens agreed that the use of these technologies is a better idea in order to protect the nation from the intruders. Some Americans prefer to be secure with loosing certain rights to privacy like surveillance cameras and monitoring phone calls.
No information about people is out. Is it? Only the NSA keeps all the records. Some people did not have a problem while posting their information and daily routine on social networks like Facebook, twitter etc.
