This essay, seeing with my muscles, by Elizabeth Weil, details a mother and daughter’s conversation of on the topic of the physiques of the Olympiads. The main ideas of the article was centered on the perception vs the reality of the athletes, more specifically the female athletes, body types.
The story follows the experiences of the mother, as she describes her own viewpoint as a young college athletes. And goes on to describe her own self perceptions and the evolution of what she thought of herself.
