Writing Review

The Where I’m from poem was a great piece of writing because it showed us where everyone was from and what it was like in their family it was kind of funny to see some traditions and everyone be grossed out or everyone just laugh at it but they knew what they meant by it and accepted it. This writing was also one of my best pieces of work this year and I was happy.

The movie that I presented was called: The Express, it was the greatest movie I had ever seen and I liked the fact that it was all true nothing was added for show or no Hollywood effects was added to the movie it was all just the flat out truth about an American hero even though he never played a down in the N.F.L.

My senior paper even though it wasn’t my best work I am still proud of it because it is one of my final steps I needed in order to graduate and when I look at that and realize that I graduated because of it makes all the difference in the world to me I am very proud of that paper.

My Influential person poem is my favorite because it’s about my friend Hunter Geissinger. Nothing in my mind can replace what me and that kid have. It is sad that he is going into the air force but I am also happy for him because he had reached his goal in life and that’s all he wanted and asked for. Hunter is truly an amazing friend and no one can replace him I am glad to have known him throughout high school here at Hoover.

The Quote that you had made us do I put in there because I actually live by the=is and when I found out I can put that on here I was happy. I never get stressed out and I always just keep walking forward even if it hurts. I always stay patient with others and you would never find me mad at another person unless they started it

Thank you Mrs. Manion for Everything you have done for me my senior year here at Hoover it has been an amazing experience (no I am not sucking up for points ha)

The poem I have chosen is “The Road Not Taken,” written by Robert Frost. The reason I chose this poem is because I believe this poem has stood out from the others. While reading the poem, the lyrics drew my attention. It made me realize that this poem is real, an everyday thing. “ The Road Not Taken,” is about a person and how the choice they have made has affected their life. Choices affect you and all your other decisions that you may face later on in life. This made me feel like everything has a purpose. You set your own choices and you decide where the path will take you. I chose “The Road Not Taken,” because it is truly based on human life. Every human has come to a place where they have more than one choice and they don’t know what…

What started off as a normal day in the small Lakes Region town of Gilford New Hampshire quickly turned into a test of my ability to make the right choices and into a test of my moral rightfulness as well a judgment of my good character: It was a humid mid-August day in the Granite State; I was 14 years-old and was spending the weekend at my aunt and uncles house in Gilford. The day started like any other; my aunt and uncles morning shuffling woke me around eight o’clock and I went down stairs to find my cousin, Tyler, sitting at the breakfast with the ever-present Dunkin Donuts box open in front of him. I sat down and took my usual strawberry frosted donut. Upon taking a bite of that strawberry goodness, I asked…

There are many accomplishments in my life of which I am proud, however there are two for which I am especially proud. Those being, having the opportunity to play varsity shortstop in high school, and having good enough grades to be nominated for, and to be admitted into, the National Honor Society. These accomplishments make me proud because they are goals that I was able to set and accomplish for myself. These are successes that not everyone can say that they have achieved.…

All of the works throughout this semester, the topics covered this semester were really educative. All the poems were the most inspiring section for me. The poem “Theme for English B” by Langston Hughes was really good and inspirational. It helps look at people and understand them differently. It shows how the things were like for African American during that time. The other poem was, “Worn Path” by Eudora Welty. The poem is very motivational for everybody, it shows how not quit in every little steps and keep moving ahead in order to success. The poem taught me not give up and work hard to be successful. Both poems were very motivational. Both poem’s theme were clearly could be spotted and gave me operatively to do my work and work hard on…

The proudest moment in my high school career is when I signed myself to take my first AP class. I was really nervous about going to the meeting to sign myself up to get the summer assignment because I felt that I was not ready for the work load, and I would not be able to pass the class. My excuse for not going to the meeting was that I was helping in the cafeteria and I was going to be really late, but when I told my two best friends Jenny and Virginia that I wasn't going to take it anymore. They got so frustrated and annoyed with me because they said I was stupid if I didn’t take AP calculus because that was my favorite subject and I needed a challenge in that class. They also made me remember when I would tell them that Math Analysis was…

Not many people are honored to say they were in the presents of a famous poet who read to them. This semester in my poetry class I was in the presence of eight poets including the one I am going to write about today, his name is Lenny DellaRocca. When I first saw Lenny DellaRocca go through the doors into my classroom I had a feeling I was not going to like him for some reason. As soon as he got settled in and started reading my feeling changed about not liking him and I enjoyed every word that came out of his mouth. With his poems I feel like he does not hold back, like he does not even care about how anyone would feel about his words and I liked that about his poems. I favorite poem from Lenny DellaRocca is called ‘The Last Laugh’. The reason why I liked this poem so much is because it is so real. He says what is on his mind and does not change words around to try to sugar coat anything. Some of my favorite parts of the poem are,…

I wasn't so proud about my english grade this year and I know I could have worked harder, but I have always struggled in english. This year taught me not to procrastinate and write an essay the night before it’s due, don’t just read the summaries online when you're told to read a book, and to take time doing your work. I was most definitely proud of my “Where I’m from Poem,” this was our first piece of writing. It described me and my family and where we are from without saying our addresses. When I first got the assignment, I really had to think where I was from besides from 5506 Atlantic Ave. I think that my hardest piece of writing this year, was my dental research…

I chose the poem Ode to The West Wind by Percy Bysshe Shelley because I was attracted to the many images Shelley painted in the poem. Nature is a very interesting and powerful force and the way Shelley portrays it in this poem really caught my attention. Shelley also emphasizes the importance of words and their potential impact on a society if shared. This is a concept I found quite intriguing.…
