National Honor Society's Accomplishments
There are many accomplishments in my life of which I am proud, however there are two for which I am especially proud. Those being, having the opportunity to play varsity shortstop in high school, and having good enough grades to be nominated for, and to be admitted into, the National Honor Society. These accomplishments make me proud because they are goals that I was able to set and accomplish for myself. These are successes that not everyone can say that they have achieved. When I was about twelve years old, I set the goal to be on the varsity softball team in high school. When I finally reached high school, I did not think that I was good enough to play varsity softball, however I figured that I would just make it on the junior varsity squad. During practice, I worked my hardest and I was the only freshman chosen to participate in our first scrimmage. In that …show more content…
One reason that I am so proud of my high school academic accomplishments, is because I struggled with my grades in grade school. Because of these struggles, I realized that I needed to work hard to obtain good grades. In high school, my work ethic helped me attain good grades and be nominated for the National Honor Society. According to the National Honor Society, only about
20% of high school students are nominated, and of them only 30% to 40% are actually admitted. Being a part of a very limited association, such as the National Honor Society makes me exceedingly proud. Many accomplishments in my life make me particularly proud. Having the opportunity to play varsity shortstop in high school, reaching one hundred hit, and being selected into the National Honor Society are three such accomplishments. I am proud of these successes because I was able to set them and accomplish for myself. Not everyone can say that they have achieved such success, but I can, and that makes me

What would be preventing me from talking more about my accomplishments would be my unwillingness to have the spotlight on myself, as I don’t want to seem like a self-centered person. This would be more pronounced in an environment where I am uncomfortable, but not at all present in an environment where I am comfortable with the people I am surrounded by.…

The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. The proudest moment in my high school career is when I signed myself to take my first AP class. I was really nervous about going to the meeting to sign myself up to get the summer assignment because I felt that I was not ready for the work load, and I would not be able to pass the class. My excuse for not going to the meeting was that I was helping in the cafeteria and I was going to be really late, but when I told my two best friends Jenny and Virginia that I wasn't going to take it anymore. They got so frustrated and annoyed with me because they said I was stupid if I didn’t take AP calculus because that was my favorite subject and I needed a challenge in that class. They also made me remember when I would tell them that Math Analysis was…

The one thing I take pride in is that when I get my degree and finished school is that I’m going to open a center for kids who need help. For example, if they are being neglected or being abused, they will receive counseling and will be placed in a better environment where they will feel safe and protected. They will have people who support them and having known that they are looking after them. I take…

    My Major Accomplishment

The thing that comes to mind that I would say makes me the proudest is working so hard all those years in high school to get good grades just so I could get into the best college in Florida. The day I got accepted into University of Florida was the day I felt proudest of all my accomplishments in high school. I would not say it was easy though, I managed to maintain my high GPA while holding a job, participating in sports, and even doing a lot of chores most kids would not even think about doing. I can remember when my family had me help fix our house after a waterline busted and flooded the entire house. After school and football practice I would come home and start working on fixing our house. No matter how tired I was I did not quit until the job was done even if it meant staying up late with my mom working on the project at hand. Now I know by no means necessary that this is a miracle, but I feel that it is something I am proud of. Being able to accomplish my goal no matter how many tasks I have to do. So I know now that I can handle anything that comes my way no matter how hard it may seam and how tiresome I may be I will not let up until I am done. The day I received my acceptance letter to the University of Florida was proof of the hard work I had done and that I was going to get where I wanted as long as I keep up my hard work.…

When it comes to accomplishments for myself it’s hard not to think about times where I have accomplished accidently dropping a bell on my head or successfully running straight into a pole. And when I do find something I have accomplished it rarely seems to be something not too important or something very easily done. Being alive is not an accomplishment for someone who lives here, and having a driver’s license is something that nearly every functioning member of society has to have to do almost anything. Probably the most amazing thing I’ve done is keep my truck running somehow over the course of two years. And really all it is is working straight out of a book I got for free at the library. But this is not the accomplishment I have been trying to clumsily write about but the accomplishment is really the skills I have been learning by fixing my truck. I have learned so many things that will help me amazingly in the future. Anything that includes basic mechanics or electrical will be so easy now. I’ve replaced fuel pumps and starters, a distributor cap. At one point I spent a month replacing all the grounds one by one while I still had to work and go to school. Now that was an accomplishment. I’m not sure how I haven’t messed it all up yet. But in all the big accomplishment is the fact that I’ve done this and am still doing this and I find that to be my big ongoing…

My most outstanding achievement is my GPA. I am very close to having a 4.0 GPA and I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am. School hasn't came easy to me, but it is something that I work very hard at. I love to learn knew things, and I don't have a photographic memory so I have to go home and study every night. I've taken college courses since my freshman year, and I've almost taken every class Wabash High School has to offer. Math is my worst subject, but I work very hard at it and I work for my grade in there. I selected this achievement because I feel as if it is the most important thing I have accomplished. Neither of my parents cared about school so they didn’t try, and therefore my brother had no motivation to try. He did finally…

The most significant accomplishment, for me, would be assuming an officer position within the Morehouse College Glee Club as a freshman. This is something that never happens, considering elections within this organization occur at the close of each academic year so freshmen would not be considered. The then president had a tough decision to make in terms of who to appoint to the position. After careful review of attendance records and academic records I was ultimately chosen. Not only did the then president go against the grain, but he believed in my ability to achieve be an effective leader. This empowered me to excel and become more dedicated to the organization and developing my leadership skills.…

proud of myself. My first greatest achievement was when I was accepted by Ocean Medical Center as a junior volunteer, when was a freshman going into my sophomore year of high school. At that time I had never applied for any position outside of school activities, and being a volunteer at the hospital would help me decide whether I wanted to become a doctor like my grandfather or an engineer like my father. When I got the call from the volunteer services office a few days after my interview saying I had been chosen as a volunteer, I was ecstatic. Getting the opportunity to volunteer in a hospital and directly aid doctors and nurses over an entire summer was an honor and I learned many things about a doctor and nurses job from it.…
