Servant Leadership Summary
The first recommendation for improving my leadership success is to work on collaboration with the teams that I lead. Whereas it is essential to serve the team, it is also key to work in collaboration with the team to help keep a good balance and not stress out myself or others I am working with at the time. This relates to the servant leadership theory because collaboration is one of the primary leadership characteristics identified for servant leaders by Focht (2015). Focusing more on collaboration and making allowing others to lead in areas they excel will help overall in my leadership practices. The second recommendation is figure out best practices for work-life balance. Liden (2014) discusses how servant leaders should serve as positive role models for their teams. When leaders are showing their teams that it is important to have balance the team will be in a better place with less stress. As a leader, I need to work on finding this balance so teams that I lead have a good role model when it comes to balance. The third recommendation is to take time to learn more about where I want my career to go in the future. This relates to servant leadership because the willingness to learn is another key function identified for servant leaders (Focht 2015). Having a clear vision for the future will help me to be the best leader that I can be in the field that works best with my leadership style. …show more content…

I can agree with her statement on developing a ministry, “It’s a battle worth fighting, suit-up, buckle-up, and don’t doubt that God is in everything.     When one hears the term servant, it is usually associated with the Bible since it clearly indicates that all Disciples of Christ or believers are servants. Servant is defined as “a person working in the service of another”. When Robert K.     What is servant leadership? When this question is asked, the first response that comes to mind is a leadership role in some sort of spiritual capacity. In actuality, this concept can be applied to both professional and spiritual roles of leadership. Robert K.
