Normally, servant leaders offer total attention to followers and concentrate on catering to their needs. Unlike transformational leadership approach that offers recommendations on how the leader can motivate and influence followers, this theory emphasizes on ethics, empathy, trust, and collaboration. This means that the leader has to act like a servant so that he can serve his followers better (Hochstetler, 2014). Notably, leaders need to identify the desires and needs of their followers because they are bound to reciprocate through better performance, deeper engagement, and increased teamwork.
