Sexual Compulsive Behavior
The correlation between sexual compulsive behavior and the use of methamphetamine amongst gay men will be addressed in a psychoeducational group therapy setting. Because of unique cultural issues in the gay community, this behavior known as sexual sensation seeking remains physically, emotionally, and psychologically damaging to the individual and the community. By modeling our group after other empirically tested therapy groups, individuals will be guided in a closed, peer group setting led by empathetic co-facilitators who utilize existential and cognitive behavioral techniques. The personal involvement in group will afford an outlet to provide feedback, to modify irrational thinking that may lead to self-defeating behaviors. The goal from
