What is sexuality? Sexuality relates to a person’s capacity for sexual feelings, their sexual activity, and/or their sexual preference or orientation. This description sounds simple, but sexuality is complex and difficult to study. There are many different opinions on what causes sexuality and how to handle it. Some believe that homosexuality is a natural variation, while others believe that it is a psychological disease. One thing that most can agree on is that sexuality is a foggy subject. Despite a great deal of research, one concrete cause for homosexuality hasn’t been found. The cause could be hormonal, genetic, biological, environmental, social, or many of these things. “The birth order effect” on sexuality describes a male’s chances of being gay based on how many older brothers he has. The more older brothers a male has, the more likely he is to be gay. The brothers don’t have to be raised together, they just have to come from the same mother. The birth order effect is caused by the prenatal environment of male fetuses. While in the womb, male fetuses come into contact with antibodies from the mother. The mother’s immune system emits these antibodies to attack the foreign male genes that are now present inside of her. .These antibodies emasculate and become stronger each time they are used.
