Shaarei Bina Informative Speech
Firstly, When I used to live in New York, my school didn't commemorate the Holocaust and I didn't know much about it. Therefore I am very happy that Shaarei Bina welcomes and commemorates the Holocaust. On top of that, I am very happy that Shaarei Bina, took us to this very memorial, heartbreaking trip. Although the atmosphere was very dismal, it is very important to learn about such a history shocking event. The video that the Holocaust Memorial offered us was very sad, informative and showed a little aspect of how the outside world or the Nazis abhorred the Jews. I, amongst other peers of mine, were brought to tears by how the Jews were suffering in the Holocaust. The video, in a nutshell, pointed out, as I said before, the suffering that …show more content…
There was one sculpture in particular that touched my heart. That was in the center of the memorial, where a hand that in my opinion portrayed G-d and many sad, hollow looking people that symbolized the Jews struggling to reach that hand. Although some of those people couldn't get on that hand, due to lack of room, they still had hope and the will to live. Another sculpture that was very heartbreaking, was that of a mother protecting her children from the Nazis. On top of that sculpture was one of Anne Frank’s quotes saying “....then in spite of everything, I still believe that people are at good at heart”, meaning that there was still hope that humans are good at heart, even the Nazis. Then at the conclusion of the tour, there was another image of that same mother and her children dead, on top of that images there was another quote written by Anne Frank that said “ ideals, dreams and cherished hope rise within us only to meet the horrible truth, and be shattered”, meaning that later in the war Anne Frank amongst others- slowly lost their hope. These three sculptures really gave us a good image of how dreadful the Holocaust really

In the early 1940s, The Holocaust was a dangerous time period to live through. It was a disaster where people in germany that Hitler did not like, such as the Jews, would be killed by the Nazi. Not only jews, but all races, all ages, and all religion were eliminated without any justice. The concentration camps in Germany were for jews and others to be tortured, but mainly to be killed “without legal proceedings.”(Engel). Hitler put those people through the camps who had different beliefs than he had. The Holocaust is a time period that all people should have a moment of silence for those who lost their lives because they were different.…

I was fortunate enough to go to the museum of tolerance, where there are three exhibits the Anne Frank, the Holocaust, and the Tolerance exhibit. Anne Frank always had hope that she would survive the war, unfortunately she didn't, but I was that hope that kept her going those two years in hiding. The holocaust exhibit helped me understand that people should ever again be treated like that, they were dehumanized pretty much treated like animals. One more less known victims of the Holocaust is Noach Szejniuk, fortunately he did survive the…

“For the dead and the living, we must bear witness.”-Elie Wiesel. The Holocaust is one of the worst Genocides in world history. None of those Jews deserved to suffer to death. So many people lost their lives and to what, so the Germans and Hitler can feel proud of themselves. Jews deserved to have remembrance.…

It is so well put together and it makes people feel as if they are the ones experiencing the Holocaust. I had tears running down my face a few times. (Okay more than a few) It is a moving experience and it is not set up like a teacher teaching it in school. The people that lived through this event came and talked and the people that are not a part of it but spoke about it dug deeper than just a huge amount of Jews dying. I especially liked this talk because all thought he Holocaust is a terrible time in history it talked about good things. This lady risked her life so that the children in the camp could have an outlet and stay alive. And the children make things that will last forever even though they do not. That is something that students do not get taught in school, but that I think has a bigger impact than a lot Jews…
