Clothing neglect is the failure to provide adequate clothing for a child.
Shoes that don’t fit, dirty clothing, clothes that fit too big or too small, when the weather is cold and not dressed appropriate can be an indicator for clothing neglect. Hygiene neglect is the failure to ensure that a child’s body and teeth are clean. When they are not regularly bathe or show signs of unpleasant body order, unwashed, uncombed, stains on the skin can lead to harassment or be shunned by their peers. Supervisory neglect is the failure to provide adequate supervision for a child. Leaving their child with an inappropriate supervisor like someone who is in drugs, missing school to take care of siblings or simply leaving them
unsupervised.
Shuttling, abandonment, and expulsion is another form of neglect because it makes the child feel unwanted and unstable. Also they are more likely to have low self-esteem, depression, mental disorders and difficulty trusting others. Safety neglect is the failure to prevent accidents and keep children safe by not providing a safety seat or left unintended. Educational neglect is the failure to ensure that a child receives an adequate education. Also when the parents refuse to receive help for a mental disability. Medical neglect is the failure to provide proper health care for a child when parents ignored treatment or regular checkups or seek mental help when the child is harming themselves. Signs that demonstrate this type of neglect one is able to acknowledge that the child’s basic needs are not met and the child’s safety and health is in danger; that person should call the child abuse hotline and do a report. Seek help from organizations that provide resources and assist families who are not able to afford them. Also seek help by going to therapy.
