Skylar Addicks’ Biography

Cute one:
Skylar Addicks grew up in the cutest little town called Wylie, Texas. If anyone actually knows where that is, she will buy you lunch. Skylar will be graduating in May 2015 from Texas Christian University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. Why did she choose engineering? Because solving math and science problems was actually kind of fun for her, which her brother always thought was weird. Nevertheless, Skylar is looking forward to what the future holds for her as woman engineer. As of Fall 2013, her overall GPA is 3.954. At TCU Skylar serves as the External Vice President of Society of Women Engineers and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, John V. Roach Honors College, Order of Omega Greek honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, and was a past Resident Assistant. In her free time, she loves to sing and really wants her friends to make a GLEE club at TCU. As a side note, Skylar’s parents have a camel at their house in Wylie and his name is Sunny Humps. He is actually for sell. Call her at 214-538-9259 if you would like to buy him. Sorry this biography turned into a Craig’s list ad, but Skylar would love it anyways.

A more serious one:
Skylar Addicks grew up in a little town outside of Dallas called Wylie, Texas. She is proud to call that her hometown because most of her family lives there and she actually went to the same high school as her father. In May of 2015 Skylar will be graduating from Texas Christian University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. She chose to study engineering because solving math and science problems was always something she excelled at and enjoyed working on. As of Fall 2013, her overall GPA is 3.954. At TCU Skylar serves as the External Vice President of Society of Women Engineers and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, John V. Personal background starts off small, it changes and grows over time into something big, it grows into an identity. Walking down the hallway at school, seeing someone standing alone, my first instinct is to make conversation, compliment, or even just smile at him or her. This instinct came from someone once telling me an act so small could turn a person's entire life around. As a kid, reading encyclopedias about random topics, consumed my time. Many days were spent coming home to find an injured wild animal in my dad's arms waiting to be saved. My dad would sit outside and draw animals, trees, and anything else he saw. Nothing excited me more than trying to draw whatever my dad drew, and as good as he did. Any assignment that was handed to…
