“The Cask of Amontillado”
In the short story “The Cask of Amontillado”, Montressor is malicious.
According to Montresor In the catacombs where Montresor was trying to get revenge, Montresor says to Fortunato “ we will go back; your health is precious”(133). Montresor was trying to reverse psychology to make him feel liked he cared but he didn’t. Because Montresor was going to kill him with impunity. Fortunato says to Montresor just as enter the catacombs “ I drink, he said to the buried that repose around us”, “ and I to your long life”(133). He was basically telling him in way giving clues but Fortunato was already starting to get drunk.     Throughout the story, Montresor betrays Fortunado. He asks Fortunado to come into his catacombs aware that he would be killing him. He taunts Fortunado by asking him if he want to go back, because he is sick.
