1. In the story the truth about sharks the antagonists is Beth. She is a typical 17 year old girl that isn’t a morning person; however she seems welcoming and considerate. Hannah is a helping hand at the store Beth is shopping at; Beth takes time and talks with her, which ended up being beneficial to her in the end. Hanna is a flat character, although she is important to the story she isn’t described with a lot of detail. Madge P Groton is the security guard, she is the protagonist. From the introduction of Madge you could tell she was stern and not overly friendly. Another important character would be the officer that eventually listened to Beth’s story. 2. .The plot of the story is about a young girl who hates mornings. She awakes still fatigued and is in a rush to get some errands done, before she is forced to attend her uncle’s birthday party. She throws on some saggy sweatpants, her hair is oily and she looks unkempt. Beth walks into the store, she notices a security guard. Madge the security guard meets Beth’s eyes with an icy stare. Beth keeping with her plans tries on some pants, she took time out of her day to be kind to the women helping her. As a result, this helps Hanna remember Beth towards the end of the story, which in turn helps Beth out. The rising action is when Beth is walking around the store still wearing the pants that she intended on buying, looking to purchase another article of clothing. The climax happens when out of know where she hears a voice saying “this isn’t how we play this game” she didn’t comprehend what was happening, and all of a sudden she was forced into the elevator furthermore being accused of shop lifting. Beth was trying to convince the security guard that this was a misunderstanding, but she wouldn’t listen, eventually the police department was contacted, and an officer came to apprehend Beth. In the back of the police car Beth pleaded with the officer to please listen to her, eventually he did. This man took a moment to stop and listen to her story, just as Beth had taken a moment to stop and listen to Hanna. The falling action is when the officer brings Beth back to the scene of
