Short Story: The Water
Shaking his head, Steve quickly glancing around.
"What happened?" He asks, trying to pull his throbbing arms down to his side. Unable to move them, he looks up to find his hands were tied together above his head. Tracing the rope with his eyes, he sees it's looped around a hook hanging down from a small ceiling rafter. Steve tried to wiggle free, but soon realizes the restraints tighten with every movement. "Oh, Beth I'm so sorry. Sorry for not helping you, for not being there for you, for not taking care of him when I had the chance. Oh please forgive me. Please, please forgive me," she sobs.

The old farm truck stops at a rickety shack on the north side of town. Jumping out, Janet starts looking around.
"This is home," he announces proudly, walking up beside her.
"It's a nice place." Jackie lies looking towards the rundown shack.
"So now you're not on the verge of getting killed, explain to me why you ran into the

The way how everything is routine, how if not "well adjusted," you will be self centered and in default setting. He describes the daily routine of an American adult, and how he goes to a supermarket, packed with more people. He gets frustrated and annoyed by all of these people; how they are just wasting his time. He then starts thinking how all of these people are going through the same thing he is going through; they have rough days just as he does.
