One similarity among these three sources, the author of “ Jump To It!, ” the author of “ The Use of Animals in Entertainment,” and the video all are biased to a side. The article, “ Jump To It!,” believes that animals should be used for entertainment. The text says, “ Americans have been frog wild for jumping contests ever since Mark Twain’s story, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County was published in the late 1800’s. ” In the article, “ The Use of Animals in Entertainment, ” it says “ The training techniques adopted to force animals to perform tricks are also often barbaric.” In the
In “ Jump To It!,” Laurie Giannini , an organizer of the Calaveras county says that “ We’ll jump frogs about 4,000 times, about a thousand a day.” The video, “ Should Animals Be Used as Entertainment,” the CNN news host says they are forcing them to do stupid tricks over and over. This reveals that they are treating them wrong by just making them do stupid stuff over and over again. I believe that the animals should be where they belong, as in the killer whale, he/she should be in the ocean instead of performing for people.
